Hmmm, the team is looking into it. From our side logins look normal (we can see populations logging into the game) and our testing is showing normal logins. We are monitoring though for issues to see what's up.

I will let you know if we discover any issues!

Turn them all on for good

Double Double: what does it matter at this point if you leave it on forever now? People will still level alts.
Bounty Week: the traffic is mostly in the bazaar. Not many do it anyway except that first Tuesday....
Gree Event: One of my favorites. Traffic is on Ilum in its own area. Not many do it anymore. The guilds can manage their own participation accordingly.
Nar Shadaa Night Life: Has its own casino area. Chat would die down after the first few weeks. Be kinda cool to have quests that go through there and real people are playing.

Rakghoul Event: This one you probably need to rotate like it is. Too many players would freak about the plague.
Life Day Event: see Rakghoul above but replace plague with snowballs.

What do you guys think? I just don't see that it matters much anymore.
This is a great suggestion, and it is something we have discussed doing in the past. All events always on might be a bit much, but running them more often / having more than one on at a time has been discussed. Right now there are some limitations on our side which prevent us from doing this. However, the interest/suggestion is noted!

Has Eric and the team kicked the bucket?

I can confirm that no buckets have been kicked for myself, or the team .

The team is working on getting our production plan locked down, getting the roadmap finalized (based on that locked roadmap), and preparing for 5.8. As some others have said, we try not to scoop details from the roadmap too much, so it means we will be a little on the quiet side until that goes out the door.

Fear not, I am still reading the forums every day. Keith and Charles tend to be in planning meetings a lot through Jan and Feb so you will usually see less of them around this time. I know Keith still does his best to respond to PMs and the like though!

TLDR - We're alive, working on getting that roadmap action to you as soon as we can!

But the SWTOR server status page does not show the same as before either. It still shows up/down but no population data anymore. Something changed obviously. Any clue? Intended or not? New IP?

Our page with server widget (workrd until the patch today): http://tcf.enjin.com/

Good questions!

This is an intended change so that the server status page matches the in-game interface for server select which we changed a few months ago. With the previous in-game change and now the web change, we ultimately removed two columns:
  • Server population - This column was fairly misleading due to the way in which it generated its value. The value it displayed was the current population relative to the total population cap. This often created situations where servers with more players would actually show as lighter than a less populated server due to its pop relative to its hardware cap. For that reason we removed it altogether.
  • Server type - Since we made the change where a player can be in any instance type, we no longer have specified server types. We similarly removed this column so it wouldn't falsely impact a player's server choice.
If someone was using a widget to get that information from our site previously, they should just need to adjust it for the missing columns.

Hope that clears up any confusion!

This is correct. The Lady of Sorrows bonus Mission wasn't really an exploit, but we saw some concerning behavior with that Mission for bots. That is why we held the patch notes until this morning.

Thanks!

#3 CZ-198 Bug

From what we can tell, any grouping issues that are occurring in CZ-198 or Iokath are service related and not an actual game issue (so you won't see a fix in the patch notes). We believe today's maintenance should have addressed it.

If you experience this again please let us know the area, and your server, and we can take a look.

Thanks everyone!

Server names will now show properly on the leaderboards. Let me know if you spot any issues.
