We are going to be freezing logins in the next 5 minutes. Servers will come completely offline in 20 (from the time of this post). Maintenance in total should take less than an hour.

Hey folks,

Quick heads up! We are seeing issues related to the start of Season 10. Specifically that matches are not properly recording wins/losses and are not rewarding players Seasonal Tokens. In order to fix this we will need to have a quick server restart on all servers. This will take less than an hour.

I do not have timing right now but this is likely to happen in the next few hours. I will post more info as I have it.

Today is not the end of action being taken for Season 9. Top 96 rewards will not go out until later this week / early next week once we have concluded our investigation, especially of top players.

Let me try to clear this up.

Example:
  • Player 1 has received 0 reports against them but we can verify in data they are cheating. They will receive action.
  • Player 2 has received 500 reports against them but when looking at data it is clear they playing legitimately. No action is taken against them.
  • Player 3 has received 500 reports against them and we can verify these reports are accurate. The player is cheating and will receive action against them.
Player reports help us insure we are investigating all possible instances of cheating, beyond what we are already looking at via data. Player reports help us investigate possible cheating. It does not dictate the action we take.

To address a few of the questions in the thread:
  • We use a variety of data points to verify players who are win trading, backfilling, etc. We check data against numerous known forms of "cheating" players can use in Ranked.
  • We do not suspend or action anyone based only on player reports. Even if a player has a large number of reports, this does not impact whether we take action or not, all players are verified through data.
  • If someone feels they were incorrectly actioned, they should follow the instructions in the message they received.
  • If you feel players were missed, as always please be sure to report them in-game and/or privately to Keith or myself.
  • We have been taking action starting this morning and through maintenance, the leaderboard is likely not a proper reflection of current ratings (but should be later today).
  • We have always taken action against folks who cheat in Ranked. However, the action we were taking previously wasn't doing a good enough job of curbing that behavior. That is why we are ramping up the action we are taking.
