One quick heads up for everyone. Thanks to the awesome feedback we saw on PTS we implemented an "apartment" in the Rishi Stronghold, the Overlook. That room will have a largely reduced unlock price of 120,000 credits until 5.9.3 .

Conquest "Weirdness" Today

Hey folks,

With the changes being made to the Conquest review period starting, you will see a little bit of weirdness with Conquests today. When the servers come back online, you will see that Conquest is actually open again and that it will end and go into review at 10AM Pacific. It is possible you will see some strangeness with the Objectives as well since it closed and reopened.

Everything should be back to normal once the new Conquest kicks in later today. Apologies for any confusion.

Thanks everyone.

Or are you changing the reset time back to how it was originally so it will be at the same time as weekly/daily quest resets?
Thank you for catching that, there was a miscommunication around the timing. The end/reset time of Conquests did not change, it is still 11AM Pacific.

What did change is the review period is now only 1 hour, and you have to commit earlier than before. I have updated the times in the patch notes to reflect this. We know my incredible talent for timezones so let me know if something still looks amiss.

Thanks!

Win Traders in Season 9 and Beyond

Hey folks,

Congrats to everyone who participated in Ranked PVP Season 9! It was a hard fought Season and we look forward to seeing you around the fleet with your weapons, mounts, and flairs. One thing that unfortunately comes up during and after a Season is about players who cheat, and in particular, win trade. These are players who manipulate Ranked matchmaking to play with and against specific players in an effort coordinate winning and losing, allowing them to boost a specific characters ratings. This behavior is against our Terms of Service and is something that players have to endure and we have to combat every season. With Season 9 gone and 10 in process, we wanted to provide a status update on win trading in The Old Republic.

Starting with the end of Season 9, we now have a zero-tolerance policy on win trading.

This action has already happened with players who were caught win trading during S9. For these players, including their first offense:
  • Suspension time, up to seven days.
  • Every character on their account will have their Group and Solo rating set to one.
  • Depending on severity further action can occur, such as zeroing out Ranked Currency or permanent account closure.

In addition to the above bullets we are going to be making some systemic changes to assist in curbing this behavior. In a future game update any character that uses a character transfer will have its Ranked rating reset. We have also continued to make improvements behind the scenes in how we use analytics to track down and action win traders.

I do want to take this time to say thank you to the vast majority of you who continue to play legitimately. Also, to all of you who continue to report cheaters to myself, Keith, and customer support. Please keep letting us know as you spot bad behavior in PvP. Together we can keep Ranked PvP a place where players can compete in a fair environment.

Thanks everyone.

You will have them today! It may be a bit later in the day, I have quite a few meetings and things early on which is taking me away from my Lord Ptach responsibilities.

I will get them to you ASAP, they are pretty long .

Fix for the Lana Beniko Marriage Bug in 5.9.2

Hey everyone!

I wanted to share a more detailed update about the Lana marriage bug that cropped up with Update 5.9, and how well be addressing it with Update 5.9.2.

When the dev team originally implemented the variable that stores whether a given player character has chosen to marry Lana or not, a bizarre quirk of the tools caused that variable to not be set permanently, even though we told the tools to do so. As Im sure you can imagine, we found this quite frustrating, and have thus destroyed said quirk via ruthless orbital bombardment to ensure that this doesnt happen again. From now on, characters that are in a romance with Lana who play through the Solo Story mode of the Nathema Conspiracy Flashpoint will have their decision of whether or not to ask Lana to marry them remembered permanently, as it always should have been.

Of course, this still remains an issue for those players whose characters are in a romance with Lana and have already completed the Solo Story mode of Nathema Conspiracy. We have implemented a solution to correct the issue for those players in Update 5.9.2. When the servers come back up with the new update, a brief new mission will appear automatically on all characters who meet the following criteria:
  • In a romance with Lana Beniko
  • Have completed the Solo Story mode of the Nathema Conspiracy
  • Are not currently on the mission Things Left Unsaid (ie, are not currently breaking up with Lana to begin/resume a different romance)

The new mission, An Error in Alliance Records, will send you to the droid H1-R1 on Odessen, who will ask you a series of questions to correct some issues in his corrupted Alliance personnel files. Please be sure to answer his question about your relationship with Lana honestly, as its going to be remembered permanently this time.

You may wonder if its possible to tell the droid that you didnt agree to marry Lana when you actually did, or vice versa. The answer is yes, that is possible; this is your one chance to change your mind consequence-free, but be sure thats what you really want to do as I said, your answer will be permanently recorded.

We wholeheartedly apologize to all players impacted by this issue, and appreciate your patience as we put together our solution.

Correct! For generalized messaging I am just saying login issues. For clarity (to your point) this will address queue issues, loading screens for going into zones, etc. Basically it should address the random issues that popped up this morning.

Thanks!

Hey folks,

We are going to be restarting all servers to help address an on-going login issue. This should take one hour or less from the time of this message.

Thanks!

Sorry this caused any inconvenience, but glad everything is good again.
